The man claimed that his brother, Christopher Rodriguez, and his girlfriend, Larissa Rodriguez, had killed a child and buried him in the yard. Officers arrived, and while there were several children, none of them matched the description of the one they were looking for. The yard appeared undisturbed, but Jordan had been buried for three months, giving the ground time to settle. The house was in horrible condition. Infested with rats and bed bugs, a stomach-churning discovery was made when one of the children was found eating a sandwich that contained cockroaches. For months, the social worker assigned to the family had been bribed with food stamps by Larissa. The social worker failed to check the home, and this prolonged the discovery of Jordan’s death. Jones’ body had been covered by duct tape and thrown into a creek not far from her mother’s apartment. Robert Howard was quickly identified as a person of interest because he was a registered sex offender.
